Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assist and dedication to improving South African Social Security Company (SASSA) expert services through an engagement using the company's senior managers in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled during the 2024 matric exams.
With the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for that National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% of your registered pupils from the schooling sector.
These learners accomplished a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the investment national government is making in the lives of poor and susceptible small children is yielding a good impact in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe explained.
Reflecting on recent achievements, the Minister highlighted vital milestones and ongoing priorities. She devoted to urgently addressing the issue of lasting leadership appointments and the shortage of staff at most regional workplaces.
